Walton - Walton returns from Nigeria with tremendous success

The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ experienced a fruitful participation in the Africa’s largest 10-day long expo “Lagos International Trade Fair-2016,” concluded on 13th November’16 at Tafawa Balewa Square of Lagos in Nigeria.  


The wide range of Walton brand products with world-class quality at reasonable prices attracted the African buyers at the just concluded expo. Walton received a good amount of spot orders at the expo. In addition, some Nigerian businessman also expressed their eagerness for being a distributor of Walton brand products in Nigeria.


Mentionable, the country’s electronics giant Walton was the first-ever Bangladeshi company that took part in the just concluded “30th Lagos International Trade Fair and highlighted its wide range of products like intelligent inverter technology’s refrigerators, air conditioners, LED televisions, laptops, mobile phones, blenders, induction cookers, LED bulbs and other electronics and electrical household appliances through Walton Pavilion at the fair.


At the fair, people from all spectra, including entrepreneurs, individuals and journalists,   were thronging the Bangladeshi brand Walton Pavilion and lauded  the uniqueness of Walton products like world-class quality, diversified colours and designs and affordable rates.


Walton officials said, a certificate from Standard Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) is required to export electronics products to Nigeria. Bangladeshi brand Walton obtained that certificate in the very beginning of the current year. Through participating in this fair, Walton products won the heart of African people. Along with the people’s heart, Walton brand also placed on the Nigeria’s top daily newspapers like Daily Punch, Vanguard, Guardian, Daily Times, and Leadership.  

Dwelling on the fair’s success, Walton Group Director SM Mahbubul Alam said, the participation in the Africa’s biggest trade fair ‘Lagos International Trade Fair’ made a successful journey to the African markets. Highest standards and reasonable prices of Walton products allured most of the African buyers at the expo. Specially, the intelligent inverter technologies fridges received sound response from all classes of buyers, he said.


The export of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled Walton products to Nigeria like potential markets are further raising the image of Bangladesh at the global markets and also encouraging the other local entrepreneurs, he noted.


Roqibul Islam Rakib, head of international marketing of Walton Group, said, Nigeria with over 180 million populations is a very promising and colossal market like Bangladesh. Through Nigerial, the expansion of Walton brand’s international market to other West African countries like Benin, Togo, Cameron, Ghana, Chand, Mali, Uganda and Burkina Faso would be very easy, he noted.  


After visiting the Walton Pavilion and experiencing the uniqueness of Walton products, a Nigerian businessmen named Osagie Christian Aburime expressed high eagerness for being a distributor of Walton products in Nigeria.


At the Walton Pavilion, another visitor and customer named Sofia Base said, after visiting all other electronics’ brands pavilions, I think Walton products’ prices are very cheap and quality is also up to the international standard.”


A distributor of Walton products in Nigeria named Nunne David said both the demands and the sales of Walton products in Nigerian market are in increasing trend. After participating in this fair, some Nigerian entrepreneurs became interested in becoming a sub-dealer of Walton products.
