Walton - PM praises Walton made products at Digital World
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina lauded Walton’s initiatives of manufacturing wide varieties of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled electronics and electrical appliances.

The Prime Minister came up with the praise of the local brand while visiting Walton stall at the inaugural day of the 5th edition of the four-day country’s biggest ICT fair titled ‘Digital World-2017’ at Bangabandhu International Convention Center in the capital on Wednesday last.

The officials of Walton, who were present at the pavilion during the Prime Minister`s visit, said that the Prime Minister enjoyed a video documentary and witnessed real-time production process by closed-circuit camera at Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited and Digi-Tech Industries Limited at Chandra in Gazipur.

They also said, the Prime Minister was overwhelmed by witnessing the `Made in Bangladesh` labeled Walton products like PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembled) or motherboard, computer, mobile Phone, compressors and other products. 

At the Walton stall, the Prime Minister picked up PCB and Laptop to witness the quality and design. In that time, the officials of the local brand also showed the first-ever `Made in Bangladesh’ labeled Walton smartphone to the Prime Minister.
Expressing her satisfaction on the flourish and rapid progress of local hi-tech industries, the prime minister also informed us (the Walton officials) that she herself also like to use locally made products and thus stressed on using the products of local brands.

During the Prime Minister visit at Walton Stall, there were present, among others, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for Information and Communication Technology Ministry, Imran Ahmed, chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Post, Telecom and Information Technology, Subir Kishore Choudhury, secretary of ICT Ministry, Mustafa Jabbar, president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), and other government senior officials.

On behalf of Walton, there were present SM Shamsul Alam, chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries, SM Rezaul Alam, chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries, SM Manjurul Alam, managing director of Walton Digi-Tech Industries, and other senior officials of the company.
With the theme of “Ready for Tomorrow”, the ICT Division and the BASIS in association with some other IT based organizations organised the four-day long 5th Digital World-2017 on December 6. Walton took part in the country’s biggest ICT based fair.
