Almost all the mobile phone operators in Bangladesh are going to offer 3G facilities to their respective customers soon. Customers will have to use smartphones to avail the 3G facilities. Walton, a local company is ahead in this regard. Walton mobile handsets, equipped with all 3G facilities, have already become popular among customers.
Walton authorities said Walton smartphones, belonging to Primo G, F, G, R, H, N and X series, have already created widespread sensation in the market.
These 3G sets have drawn the attraction of customers for their affordable prices, high quality services and attractive designs. Stock of the Primo X-2 series mobile phones were sold out within several days after it arrived in the market. Long queues of customers who were willing to buy this set, were seen in front of many showrooms.
It may be mentioned that the auction of 3G licences through the BTRC was held on September 8 last. Following the auction, Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi and Airtel have already received 3G licences.
These mobile operators are going to offer their customers 3G facilities from the next month though state-owned Teletalk has been providing 3G facilities to its customer from earlier.
3G (short for third Generation) is the third generation of mobile telecommunications technology. It offers high-speed mobile internet facilities.
Starting from mobile video call, it provides various facilities including enjoying of television. Besides, video conference and telemedicine work can be done using this technology. Apart from talking through 3G mobile, users will get high-speed internet facilities wherever his or her geographic location will be.
It is learnt that Walton set can provide high-speed broadband facilities with the same SIM and at the same place. Walton’s 3G sets offer voice call, video call and wireless data (downlink up to 42.2 mbps and uplink up to 11.5 mbps) transfer facilities, which is equal to 4G facilities. The IT related experts call it 3.75G facilities.
Besides, using the Walton sets, users can enjoy television programmes and sports, transfer of video clips, video conference, video telephony, image transfer and editing, blogging, movie transfer facilities etc.
Moreover, it offers MS Word, Excel, Power Point, reading different file formats including PDF file and download facilities. Customer relation management is also possible using these sets.
Walton’s Deputy Director (Cellular Phone Division) SM Rezwan Alam said Walton sets are the most suitable for availing 3G facilities in Bangladesh. It also offers high-standard after-sale services.
He said Walton has a powerful software team, who have constantly been working for upgradation. Customers are also provided services through online. These software will be available at Google Playstore soon.
